The Year in Giving Back: AWC 2020 Donations
January 05 2021

It is safe to say that 2020 was AW Chang Corporation’s biggest year in giving back.
We have always believed that it is our corporate social responsibility to give back by using our expertise in manufacturing for a greater good. Last year was no different, and with the pandemic raging, the need was greater than ever. Here is a recap of the causes we supported last year:
Masks for All
In 2020, AWC brands pivoted production to include face masks to meet demand due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Our masks are some of the most breathable non-medical masks on the market (see: Vogue and People mentions) and we knew there were many who needed protection that did not have masks readily available. This is why we teamed up with several organizations in 2020 to get masks to those who needed it most.
In collaboration with Macy’s, our Society of Threads brand donated 20,000 masks to Soles4Souls as part of the charity’s COVID-19 relief strategy. Soles4Souls then distributed the masks to three LA-based charities- LA Mission, LA Family Housing, and Skid Row Housing Trust. In November, we stepped up again and provided 300 masks to the Nashville Rescue Mission’s women’s shelter via Soles4Souls.

CON.STRUCT also stepped in and donated masks to several schools and smaller organizations- 2400 masks to Soule Elementary, 1530 masks to DiscNY and 1320 masks to Think College Now.
For the 2020 holiday season, AWC took on an end of year project of donating a total of over 100,000 mask sets to the following schools and organizations across the country:
• Soles4Souls
• Prestige Emergency Room
• Key Collegiate Charter School

Animal Guardians
CON.STRUCT’s Animal Guardian collection, launched in October 2020, was inspired by and brought awareness to Best Friends Animal Society’s mission to end the killing of dogs and cats in shelters across America. The collection supports Best Friends with a flat donation of $25,000 to support their work to reach a no-kill nation by 2025.
According to Best Friends, “every day, more than 1,700 dogs and cats are killed in our nation’s shelters because they don’t have safe places to call home.”
In addition to the monetary donation, CON.STRUCT gifted employees and volunteers at the Best Friends Sanctuary with the animal-themed masks from the new collection. They can go about their daily work activities in protection and style.
Coral Reefs
Brooklyn Brigade made a flat donation of $10,000 to support the Coral Reef Alliance in their mission to save the world’s coral reefs, the home to 25% of marine fish. Brooklyn Brigade’s photorealistic Coral Reefs collection encapsulates the beauty and importance of this extraordinary ecosystem.
